Alaya (Aya) is a lawyer with nearly 10 years’ experience in international environmental issues and multilateral climate negotiations, with a focus on rights and environmental governance. She has worked on policies and programs in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and at international (UN) level to address climate change through forest protection and the promotion of social and environmental safeguards, and has undertaken design and development of safeguards and risk management systems for organizations seeking GCF accreditation.
